taking the load off…

The family – that dear octopus from whose tentacles we never quite escape, nor, in our inmost hearts, ever quite wish to. ~Dodie Smith

This little boy, so thats what all the fuss was about….yes, we get it now. he’s a beaut.

So here we have it, we have returned from our much anticipated family get together. Meeting a new member of the family was very cool. The sun shone, the water flowed freely and we just had some good fun.

The day seemed blissful to me and ben. We really enjoyed having such willing and trustworthy people around who just played with our little tots. When you parent so intensively, like we do, having a day when the load is just lifted and you are free to be…rocks.

So thank you to all our family peeps who ran, shouted, built things, sat with, read to and just hung out with our kids. They loved it and so did we.

Seeing our current NZ dwellers was really good. You have such a lovely little boy. Its one of those days that really can’t be described very well, so here are some pictures…..enjoy, enjoy…..more to soon appear in an album and …yes..yes, i will burn a CD.

Glad you had a great weekend – there is nothing like being with family when they are the kind who play with your kids and look like they’re enjoying it, is there?!! The photos are lovely. We are off to my mum and dad’s next weekend, and guess what….we are going AWAY for a night without the kids!!! Yes, you did read right, that said AWAY! Bless you mum and dad, your reward in heaven is very great! We’re not going too far from where mum and dad’s place (it’s the Just in Case and What If syndrome) but it will be lovely. We’re going bike riding round Carsington Water in the Peak District. Yipee! Em x
