it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
Amen Mr. Lincoln.
and i think i have a lot of ‘life’ in my years, well i like to think so….
and today i just got one year older 🙂 heehee….
haha..what has made me smile is the similarity in hair styles…compare the kiddie pic to the avator pic on the left and …oh….yeaaah….
well stick with what works right???
this week has been a maaaad week. Its been really exciting and really quite scary at the same time.
and its all to do with this little boy…
who is a short 3 and abit months off being 5 years old.
This week we went for his school ‘open day’, well afternoon. He got to meet his classmates and play on some toys and we got to meet the headmistress and got a ‘talk’ on what goes on in the school. I kept thinking how strange it was to not know who he was with or even where he was!! Being a school parent involves so much TRUST…you are trusting the teachers, the dinner ladies, the admin staff..everyone to care for and nuture your precious children……..and straight after we went to his first ever swimming lesson. He had made me laugh the day before when i had told him he was going for a swimming lesson he had reliabiliy informed me that he wouldnt need a teacher because he already knew how to swim!!!
so, i got that feeling again, handing him over into someones care who i had not even spoken to let alone knew and watching him from a distance. It was bitter-sweet. I am so proud of him, he loved the swimming, so confident, wore his goggles and dived under water and listened (okay, so only a bit) to the teacher but then there was the ‘that is my little boy beginning his own path in the world without me’ and while every mother knows this is coming, it can sometimes still catch you unawares and leave your heart aching…just a little…
one of those little activities that my girls totally LOVE and my husband HATES…,,you can just watch the stress levels rising in him at the thought of small children with paint brushes and paint….heehee..
so i took the opportunity to let the girls do some painting while ben took isaac climbing! they had a good time although it has to be said Poppy got a bit confused about what exactly to do with the paint….
the thing behind them in the pictures is our soon-to-be playhouse that the kids are pestering the life out of ben to build, i cant wait to see it up. I am even considering making curtains for it…**gasp***
and just love the fact that Maisie is painting wearing a party dress!!!!! This is just daily life with my little girl at the moment. Just love her
Happy tuesday everyone.
🙂
