ten on tuesday….

1. i had some more macro shots to share..but i managed to delete them all when i was only meaning to delete one…ooops…darn *select all*

2. Jemimah has reached that 'you know..im bored looking at the back of this seat' stage…i resorted to carrying her to school and back this afternoon in the baby carrier….facing outwards..she stayed awake all the way there and back.

3. Is it half term yet?

4. We had some friends of ours for lunch on sunday and Matilda got down from the table and disappeared for a while..we hadn't really noticed and then suddenly she appeared covered in sudocrem and we discovered just why it had been so quiet. She is for sure one of those 'if you can't hear them anymore..you need to run to see what they are getting up to' type of kids.

5. I think Isaac may be heading for a career as a presenter…or maybe a psychologist..this past couple of evenings he has said to Ben at tea time…'How was your day Daddy….why don't you tell me all about it?'

6. I have had two occasions over the past week or two when complete strangers have just been downright kind to me. One in the supermarket queue when J was gearing up for a screaming fit as her seat wasn't too comfortable..the cashier offered to pack my groceries and then a lady in the queue behind me offered to hold Jemimah so i could get on with the packing……

and today in a coffee shop…which was really really busy….wondering where to sit and getting hot under the collar again because J was screaming for lunch, a family with grown up kids finished up their coffees and offered me their table….and helped me again by holding the baby…..

its quite sad really that it is actually not the norm to be treated so…more often than not…the only input you get from strangers is the hot feeling of being stared at.

7. On the subject of shopping, Matilda is NOT a fan of shopping..there is probably not a toddler who is really but she has a habit of exclaiming in a loud voice 'OUTSIDE MUMMY!" whenever we head into a shop and 'COME ON' anytime that i hover around to browse something. She also shouts 'ELLO at anyone walking past but then won't make eye contact if they return the greeting.

8. Can anyone actually afford to fill up their entire fuel tank at the moment? diesel at £1.30 a litre, which i think for my american friends works out at about $4.00 a gallon!

9. Ben and I are trying to get 'into' west wing. We dont watch much TV really and someone recommended it so we ordered a disc on our love film account….seems good..biggest problem is actually….just..staying…awake….

10. Got some snow boots for the kids from Aldi….which is an altogether bizarre shop to carry that sort of thing…but they were pretty good value…the girls are wearing them all the time at the moment. Who needs snow for snowboots?

Girlssnowboots (1 of 1)
from my iphone.

So now that i have told you a whole bunch of useless and not so interesting facts…im off to bed…

the sad truth….

ben and i have both been commenting on how much our house seems like this at the moment….

sadly we don't get the bit when the tide goes out and you actually see the clear floor…

oh..how the line 'get some space in your life' resonates with me…

and there are quite a few times when that has nothing to do with the clutter!

ten on thursday….

1. We are making pens contraband in our house…yep i know that sounds extreme but Matilda believes, i think, that all surfaces, faces, people, walls and toys do in fact come together under the giant banner of 'doodle pad' and nothing is safe. Yes she has even drawn on her sister…with a bic biro!

2. On the subject of sisters (the baby one) who had her immunisations on Tuesday and in the process of transfer to measuring mat type thing to the change mat managed to evacuate bladder all over me..and im not talking little tiny wee either. The health visitor laughed at me and said 'oh well i guess you are used to that though….'   'er….no….its not that often that my kids pee on me…you know i try to avoid it if possible….'

3. I have been searching for weeks for one of a set of little baby bootie things, they are amongst one of my favourite bits of baby wear, im not a great fan of baby socks..or anything really that doesnt stay put on a baby and most socks don't. Anyway i had this cute pair of booties and i lost one of them a while back…i had a bit of a search for it and finally summised that i must have left it somewhere…few weeks ago i was looking for something in Maisie's bed and i came across it acting as sleeping bag for some little weeny tiny doggies. Im fighting a loosing battle here…..

4. We are in the s-l-o-w process of cleaning up our hard drive. Its is currently doing the equivalent of a bowing table under a couple of ton of paper.

5. Does it feel about a month or two since new year to anyone else?

6. Going round the block on scooters…..

Isaacpoppy08:01:10

7. The girls have started gymnastics at the local training centre..which is not your average training centre really as it has some very successful members. The dedication that the gymnastics people seem to have sort of scares me a bit. Its very beginner ish at the moment but i cant help but have this sneaking feeling that if they get good i might just have to sign my spare and not spare hours away to the cause…not sure im ready for that…and also some of those little kids doing the splits and laying their entire bodies on the floor at the same time scares me even more!

8. the kids made their own pack lunches the other evening…which is pretty incredible. Isaac started it with the idea which i think was driven by the fact that he had spied a twix which he fancied in his lunch and so had the brainwave of making his own lunch to assure that he got it!

9. Matilda started to call me 'sarah' just before christmas. I know there are some people who would just about have a fit but she is just copying what she hears others say and…um..it is my name…

10. Have you seen this kids programme . We really really like it and thats pretty rare. check it out if you have pre-schoolers or early learners in foundation stage..although my 8 and 6 year old love it to.

And so..yes i know its not thursday..i did start this on thursday and i was considering waiting till next tuesday to post it but…..

pah….
