fun in the kitchen…

capturing one of those moments that is so very ordinary and that ill so easily forget…in from school one afternoon last week and all four of them playing in the kitchen and enjoying it. i totally love them playing in the kitchen…if i wasn't in it trying to make tea at the same time! But i guess the leg lifts to step over them all is good exercise!

Today i had plans..plans to do lots, plans to accomplish but it never quite happened..and one of the main reasons for that was this…

Jemimah10:01:11

although obviously she didn't look like this….as in..asleep..that happened just before i needed to go out to school.

Can't say i blame her, it doesn't take anyone remotely clever to pinpoint the quieter moments of my day and aim for those to get the best of the attention. This is where i get very effective at preparing tea one handed all over again….

Eventually i gave up trying to get things done and sat with our wee one and smiled and chatted to her. As it was getting near to school pick up and it was time to go get the big stay-at-homer..out of her bed. I said…

'Jemimah, it has been a pleasure…'

and so it was….

yes, this is a random post after a week of  nothing, i realise that, but im pooped and need sleep and it was the best i could remember..and thats only because it was from about 7 hours or so ago..this information will leak from my brain over the next couple of days!)

Happy new year….

Today i briefly had a few minutes to put my new diary inserts for this year into my filofax. I flicked through the old one and realised that for some reason, probably both known and forgotten by me. I had decided to keep last years and half of 2009 inserts in my dairy (that'll be why it was so darn heavy..)

I sat an flicked through for 5 minutes to write down birthdays in my new diary and i noticed how quickly i went through the nearly year and a half. A few flicks of the page and i was from december to May…..and then round to december again…

and okay it was a week to a page but in a moment that time was passing by my fingers and i had reviewed 18 months in seconds….

and so much of it made up of the tiny 'screensaver' moments of life with a large and young family..

is that what makes it go so fast you think? or does it sometimes make it feel like dragging yourself through thickest mud?

here we go again folks….
