cheshire luxury…

so today thoroughly enjoyed taking some pictures for another 'miracle' baby. The setting a beautiful country house hotel in cheshire where mum and dad had got married just under a year ago. Hence why Lou wanted some pictures to surprise hubby with on their first wedding anniversary…so if you know the couple IRL hush up.

Such a lovely, sweet, amazing story behind this wee boy. I am so often in complete awe of that mamma instinct in some women and how it drives them on, pursuing their dream of parenthood.

This little boy had so much character going on as well. Just 16 weeks and knew exactly what he wanted. Just gorgeous.

The view from the cheap seats..

Okay so not necessarily sitting. This is where our little j is to be found a lot. She is one rollin' dude at the moment. She is like one of those magnets you try and place a different way just to find it has flipped back to that place that suits. For j right now that is on her belly and chewing whatever may be on the floor…or sometimes just the floor itself.

Yeah…I know…somewhat gross…

But after four other kids surviving this stage….you sort of relax the rule book a bit…..

um….

what rule book?

anyways…

They can live through eating gunk of the floor and in fact it's probably just giving their immunity a bit of a boost!

Matilda again….

and also..i posted the text below on facebook this evening and it caused a bit of a stir and i think perhaps some confusion…and i thought i would see what you facebook shy bloggers thought…

I have to say i read this and my immediate response was that it illustrates how low teaching salaries are in an interesting and different way. I like the fact that it pokes fun at the old chestnut…'well teachers get loads of holiday ' comments…

However not sure everyone who read it felt the same way…see what you think

of course apologies to those who 'do' facebook and have come here for this post expecting something original when they have already seen it on fb….

meh 😉

This is great… Read this if you appreciate or even hate teachers.

Are you sick of high paid teachers? Teachers’ hefty salaries are driving up taxes, and they only work 9 or 10 months a year! It’s time we put things in perspective and pay them for what they do – baby sit! We can get that for less than minimum wage.

That’s right. Let’s give them $3.00 an hour and only the hours they worked; not any of that silly planning time, or any time they spend before or after school. That would be $19.50 a day (7:45 to 3:00 PM

with 45 min. off for lunch and plan — that equals 6 1/2 hours).

Each parent should pay $19.50 a day for these teachers to baby-sit their children.

Now how many do they teach in day…maybe 30? So that’s $19.50 x 30 = $585.00 a day. However, remember they only work 180 days a year!!! I am not going to pay them for any vacations.

LET’S SEE…. That’s $585 X 180= $105,300 peryear. (Hold on! My calculator needs new batteries).

What about those special education teachers and the ones with Master’s degrees? Well, we could pay them minimum wage ($7.75), and just to be fair, round it off to $8.00 an hour. That would be $8 X 6 1/2 hours X 30 children

X 180 days = $280,800 per year.

Wait a minute — there’s something wrong here! There sure is!

The average teacher’s salary (nation wide) is $50,000. $50,000/180 days = $277.77/per day/30 students=$9.25/6.5 hours = $1.42 per hour per student–a very inexpensive baby-sitter and they even EDUCATE your kids!)

today on facebook…

i posted this comment:

Question: near 5 month old falls asleep in cot… You hear a pump followed by what is likely a nappy/diaper filler….do you wake baby up to change or not?

you would have seen it if you are on facebook and my friend…and if you are not on facebook then….

why not?…

Anyway i got a lot of replies, which if im honest i thought i would…because a lot of my friends are mummys and daddys and sleep is a hot potatoe for us all right?

It was fun seeing everyones responses but to be fair my mind was already made up, which i guess most people posting probably already knew. My basic caveat is 'never wake a sleeping baby'

She had absolutely filled her pants, it was an overnight nappy and there was a high chance of leakage…as there is generally with J at the moment…jet propeller in her pants i think.

BUT….

I would always take the extra washing and complete change of clothing when baby does actually wake up in exchange for more sleepy boos.

unless of course i was camping, had no means of washing anything and had nothing clean for baby to wear…and even then when that has happened…and im sure it has…there has been at the very least a cerebral attempt to find a way to make it work… "can i realistically put a 5 month old in  2 year old clothes for the day'  'can i wrap her in a blanket all day?" 'does she need clothes?' 'how close is the nearest supermarket and will everyone look at me when i take my baby wrapped in a blanket in to buy it some clothing?'

yeah…so…

the only real exemption from this rule will mean nothing to non NICU peeps but waking up that 'demandfeeder2.5kiloheadingforhypoglyceamia' baby would not fit my caveat. The other time is slightly different and i feel doesnt really fit into the 5 month category anyway but when babies are teething and they have those horrendous acid poops that pretty much burn a layer of skin away….change change change….and apply cream in copious amounts..and give teething gel, pain relief etc because if they are teething like that they are for sure going to be calling you back throughout the night and your sleep is pretty much screwed.

So….I did let her sleep….

She slept for a further hour or so i think…

it had gone through her vest, grow and sleeping bag….

My wonderful husband bought me a cup of tea and because we had no ballet/gym insanity this saturday i stayed in bed till just after 8.

and the angels they did sing…..
