Some weekend news…
So we had a good weekend, starting with a certain wedding that lotsa people were very excited about. In all honesty, im probably verging on a republican. Not because i dislike the royal family particuarly…and of course i understand the whole 'tourist' aspect of the royals but…i don't know.. i just would maybe rather some of my taxes go on the NHS maybe or the schools than on keeping a bunch of 'we were just born like it' people in cut crystal…im just saying..
but that said, being enthusiastic and embracing the history that comes with this little Island of ours, we went to some friends to watch the wedding and even the boys watched a bit…especially the fly by.
some of my very own princesses….and like i told Maisie when she was asking me about it…'this wedding today is no more special than any other wedding.' Which was a sentiment pretty much repeated by the Bishop of London in his address in the wedding service. Go listen to it if you missed it…it was pretty good.
I get much more patriotic about sport i think, we have just applied for some olympic tickets for next year and that gets me pretty excited and willing to expand a lung or two worth of air to cheer our athletes on. I guess its something in the fact that you know that the athletes are giving and have given just about everything they have to be representing their country. Their time, money, sweat, tears and talent…..many sacrifices to get to the top. Thats something worth flag waving for.
