Who is the most famous teddy bear?

Some of my lovely american friends posted me a message on facebook a few days ago, looking for a solution to an argument they were having over who was the most famous British storybook bear.

Who springs to mind for you?

I thought

1. Winne the Pooh

Pooh

one of my best friends at school was crazy over Winne the Pooh. I was not really big on him and his friends in the hundred acre woods. I don't know why…

but then i thought…no…hang on…what about…

2. Paddington Bear.

Paddington

For me, i loved paddington bear. I think it was probably because he had that little short programme in the kids scheduling after school if my memory serves me correctly..narrated by some guy with one of those Jack-a-nory voices. Yeah i was thinking paddington…

but then..i was reminded on facebook of..

3. Rupert the bear.

Rupert

and i thought to myself…of course, he has been around for a long time. Longer than Pooh? im not sure. But he has stuck around and is now modernised in that annoying new version and all his friends in toy town. I always thought there was something a bit creepy about Rupert Bear. Maybe its the hands…or those pants for goodness sake.

but then the other two  are hardly a true representation of bears in general

But anyhow that aside, this is kids stuff so lets jump into the fantasy. Who do you think is the most famous british bear and you can even tell me why if you like 🙂

I think it may be Winnie due to the Disney take over of him. But I prefer Paddington and Rupert much more.
