this week has been one of those weeks…you know the kind when you find yourself exhaling A LOT……
just frantically busy and some curve balls has sent us all spiralling into a short but intense case of 'lets see who can be the crabbiest' competition in the James family. And i think im going to win. ;p
Is it just me, or as parent are there times when you look at the back of your child flouncing off having argued the hind leg of a horse at you and think 'er..im sorry who are you, do we know each other?"
My goodness…we all need a hol-ee-day.
Where do all the lids to the tupperware pots go? Just asking…'cos we have millions of them without lids, which is no good for keeping all the contents of kids pack ups from doing a fusion dance together before lunchtime. So where do they go? are they with the odd socks? Its a pain, especially when you do three lunches a day and you would rather not use a roll of cling film a week.
So in the very random nature of this post. Sports day. Yup. that would be me…with these two…
running around with a camera between these three (two of which were as far apart from each other as you could get)
its all good exercise you know, baby in a carrier, toddler running off in all directions, running up and down a school playing field to yell 'YAY" "WAHOO" "GO GO GO"
Just out of the picture was Maisie's helper junior. The little kids get paired with an older kid to help them out and stuff. Maisie's helper was called Connor and she was, i think, a bit fond of him. She said to me as i was putting her to bed. 'Mummy you know when i did my first running race, Connor said to his friend, she is really fast!' hmmmmm…..she is 6 last time i checked right?
Contrast that to Poppy, who in reception, is in her first ever sports day. I saw her refuse all help offered and did it resolutely on her own.
Isaac, with his very competitive nature, finds sports day hard because he struggles big time with loosing. which his team sadly did by one point. GAH!
just adding this little clip from the running race. just listen out for a little bit of sisterly encouragement…
please excuse the dodgy blurry video skills. Much as i love my camera and it has an amazing HD video capability I am fairly rubbish at using it!
So how long till the end of school now?
although of course that does mean i am hurtling towards my return to work. :-/
