>if you want to see something really cute but a little bit odd. Not really in a bad way but kind of in a ‘yeah that is society now’ way. I looked after these little cuties on sunday night and they are all totally adorable. Although feeding every 2 hours, one on the hour, then the next on the half hour and then the next on the following hour did make me think…’these kids are going to need a lot of help’

One of the eternal questions that i am frequently forced into asking in these sort of situations is why are there women who dream and hope for a baby, endure endless heart ache and pain trying and failing or even succeeding to have to then watch their child fight for life in a tiny plastic box and then there is a 15 and 16 year old child who fool around and then end up with three gorgeous, perfect babies or even harder to understand are the babies of parents who are so horribly addicted to drugs that their babies have to endure withdrawal within the first few days of their tiny lives and then be rejected by their parents because they are too blinded by their addiction to see the amazing blessing they have been given.

I just don’t get it, in my job it is something i wrestle with a lot because im presented with the reality of this every week i go through the doors to the NICU. The cruelty of nature, the randomness of fertility. No matter how you try to understand it, there is no conclusion that makes any sense. It will be top of my list when I meet my maker thats for sure.

But, dont get me wrong, I wish these young parents all the best. They have been blessed with such beautiful little babies who have overcome the many potential problems of being an in utero identical triplet and arrived in good condition and at a reasonable gestation to have a fighting chance. Mum and Dad at least seem to know that and are prepared for the challenge of raising children when they themselves are barely out of their childhood. I wish them a ton of patience, lots of willing baby cuddlers, endless and fruitful power naps and moreover frequent miracle moments, when they look at their babies and wonder at the miracle that they are.
