The end of a week…

So this week was up there with the best of tough weeks i think. If there was a top 10 of crappy weeks this would have at least made it into the top 5 maybe.

But we will endeavour to wave and not drown….and maybe tread water a bit. sheesh because that was some deep water dude.

Tomorrow we say goodbye to some friends who are leaving for the southern most hemisphere to have some adventures. We get a rare night out. WoooH

So leaving you this friday because im headed to bed with my hot water bottle and the ipad whilst willing with my entire willing-ness bone that my children SLEEP tonight. #pleasegodpleasegodpleasegod pleasegod.

Leaving you with this really sweet little video that a friend of mine directed my way recently. Love the creativeness behind it..although man, im not sure ive EVER had a child who would sleep through being posed like that. You can check out her blog to if you click into youtube. She has a book being published and runs competitions for others to do these cute baby scenes.

So this, THIS is what i should have been doing when my babies slept. But i think i just sat and gazed into space a bit…or maybe a lot…

a little indulgence if you will…

i got a fb message from a friend asking us about what to take skiing this evening. He is off to France with his girlfriend for the first time (i think) hitting the slopes. My mum and dad are also skiing this week and they have said there is lots of snow. Made me feel kind of nostalgic for the two skiing holidays we have had with our kids. Just love seeing the kids ski. No fear, no worries. Point down the hill and off you go. love that.

Here is a little movie i have patched together..done very quickly but still gives you a flavour, there are a couple of very wobbly camera shots..its not that easy to snowboard and film at the same time you know!

In some of those Poppy is just 4 years old. She is the sweet little starfish on skis somewhere near the start. Love her..she refused to wear gloves or coat. It was spring and it was warm in the mountains. But my goodness she does it her own way 😉

That girl has a brave heart.

For me, i love the snowboarding but just being in the mountains makes me happy. Looking at that shot that we took from the highest lift station across to Mt. Blanc, I can still feel the fresh air on my face. Perfect.

oh and how gorgeous does the OH look. in his natural habitat 🙂

bringing the #thegallery back..

yes im trying to get back into the swing of doing the gallery. If you want to find out what this is you can click the link that is over there to the left and it will take you to Tara's site.

This week its phone pictures. I take LOTS of pictures with my phone. I completely LOVE my slr but it is heavy and bulky and not so great when you are toting 5 kids around all the time..but my nifty little iphone is just brilliant. Since upgrading my phone as well, the camera on it is not too shabby.

So when i thought of one that i really liked i thought of this one..there are a couple of reasons that i really like this one. I have shared it before i think on a silent sunday..but my reasons are:

i took it in the run through of my older girls ballet show in the theatre and the teacher quite fussy about pictures being taken and so i was trying to be fairly discreet…

As i said it was my girls ballet show and as much as the practice and rehersals were quite long and expensive. I totally LOVED that they were part of it and was so so so proud of them. I love that my girls dance.

I also love that there is just that air of expectation and that lovely 'what are they looking at?' part of this shot. They were watching the older girls while they waited for their turn and they were totallly quite and gripped. That was fab. There is that waiting to step out into the limelight feel to it and i love the apprehension you get from imagining how they felt..

All that..caught on an iphone because there was no way that i would have been able to use my camera.

A photographer friend of mine commented on this photo when i put it on facebook and when i said id taken it with my iphone he replied 'you are only as good as the camera you have with you' i think 🙂 apologies Chris T, if ive got that wrong!!
