My awesomeness…

at the gallery this week the theme is 'my awesome photo'

I literally puffed out my cheeks and blew out some air when i read that. One photo?

Yikes….

I actually thought of one and its not a person which in itself is pretty incredible as so often the pictures that take my breathe away are capturing an emotion or a moment, a look…

but this one i took on holiday in Devon this year is my awesomeness for right now…

Beachthegalleryw

Towards the end of a beautiful day, that little bit of heaven shining through the clouds. Perfect.

the beautiful and sublime Woolacombe beach in North Devon…

and yeah..we had just dragged 5 kids UP that hill of sand.. uh huh…lots of fun!

ten on tuesday….

Ten

So its looking like i am characteristically swinging by my blog mondays and tuesdays then pay it nary any attention for the rest of the week.

um….

that

would be…er…true.

But I am soon to be getting an exciting little armchair of cyber space, that is, once i can actually follow and understand the instructions that the delightful web designer has given me!! Just kidding! (a bit)

So anyways…onward. Sleep deprived ten on tuesdays.

1. So the vomits left. WOOP. and then the flu/snot like kryptonite has replaced it. OH.the.JOY! In particular my littlest one who feels the need to share how rubbish she feels with me….um…all.the.time.

2. I half watched/half edited the facebook guy interview on the BBC the other night and all i could focus on was the incredible Apple Cinema Displays that were absolutely everywhere in his silicone valley HQ. Im sure he could spare one no? Did you see the bit where you could go to a vending machine and get a new keyboard if the one you were using broke at any time! Ha

Unknown

Woah…

3. We went swimming, well i didn't. See point number one, unwell baby and me stayed in the viewing gallery. But the kids did and they loved it. It is one of those rare opportunities that you are actually okay with taking pictures in a public baths. It was a private function. A group of us had hired the pool.

Swmp

this is largely how most of my kids swim…that would be under the water….

4. We have already done our christmas decorations. Once we had the traditional 'oh none of the lights work' discovery. We put the tree up (regretfully we are still working a pretend one) and then strung up some lights and then gave the kids the boxes of tree decs and said off you go. Yes REALLY, i know that would FREAK some of you out but they enjoyed it, it didnt look too bad and when you have two toddlers in the house a large percentage of the lower decorations are going to be moved or taken off…so why put in all the effort to make it look all symmetrical…yadda yadda…

5. I have finished up my pre-christmas shoots. Still editing the last two but PHEW that was intense and inspiring and encouraging and challenging and just GREAT. I have loads of ideas for next year. I posted some pics from my last session on my tog blog and i think i recieved one of the most bizarre comments ever on them! Im not going to say what it was…see if you can guess!!

6. Musical interlude…

7 if you fancy a giggle try checking out some autocorrect fails..that moment when you realise you typed a message into your text and your phone has convienently 'predictive texted' it into some other word and now your text message means something else ENTIRELY...here

8. I think i reached a threshold moment. On the bus home from work…stopped staring into space long enough to overhear a couple of young, trendy looking students talking about going out etc etc..and i thought to myself 'ahhh i bet his mum misses him!"….gah!!

9. After bugging me for days to get her a 'snowflake' outfit for her school nativity. I send in a pair of white leggings and top and even ask if she needs her ballet shoes as she is doing a dance. J2 tells me this afternoon 'dont worry mum, im going to bring that outfit you sent in home. My teacher has given me a proper costume!"…..pah!!

10. You know folks, its nearly that time to 'elf yourself??!!!"

Linking up with some lovely ten on tuesday ladies this week….

this week baby i promise….

this is to my two big girls…

who are taking part in their nativity this week and to be honest i am not a massive fan of going to nativities. Its not the kids performing its the crazy, january sales attitude of so many parents to getting and maintaining a seat for the show!

ugh…it feels a bit like those queues at the ski lifts…just need to take me some big jabby poles and skis (Just kidding…..a bit!)

Anyway so to my funny little girls.

This week babies i promise to be not just dread going to the nativity and smile enthusiastically even if i can only see the head of the person in front!!!

ten on tuesday….

Ten

Is it really only tuesday? Feels like a lot more time has past since the weekend…

So hang in there for this ten on tuesday it might be somewhat focused all things ick…please dont carry on reading if you are having your lunch or dinner…you'll see why..

bear with me.

1. I mentioned on twitter the middle of last week how we were visiting with the winter vomiting bug in our house. Well it came in, pulled up a chair and settled down for a long stint. All is well with D&V's in our house till one of the big guns is taken out (aka mummy or daddy) then it all starts to go south…

In a wonderful new twist to its route through our house (don't you love it when bugs mix it up a bit!) it has seemingly struck twice and just when you think you are in that wobbly, shivery, muscle aching but non-vomiting place that signals your recovery…it returns and gives you another opportunity to get closely re-aquainted with the bathroom.

2. There's a threshold moment in a childs life when they don't do the 'wake up, sit up and VOMIT instantly' some members of my family need to hurry up and reach that threshold…..

3. Babies who are feeling better get a bit of delight out of throwing random things INTO sick buckets……ewwwwww.

4. That would be me in the garden in the middle of the night…turfing toys out of one of the garden trug buckets because we had run out of sick bucket options….blech…

5. *whisper*and…i know i don't need to mention the state of the toilet right?  right?

6. What irritates me most about tummy bugs is there is just nothing you can do..you just have to hunker down and weather them out. No meds to take, no solutions, apart from maybe those hydration powders..yeah try getting a kid who is already feeling sick to drink those….um..gag…

7. One of our vomitees this past week or so insisted on having company all the time she felt sick…thats just felt sick..not actually was sick… uh huh fun family nights sat round a puke bucket..i mean WHATS not to LOVE about that! reminded me a little bit of those head-drooping times waiting for a baby to finish feeding in the wee small hours of the morning.

8. Stomach cramps that are bad enough to warrant some 'being in labour' style breathing is no fun whatsoever.

9. 'mummy isnt feeling well' in toddler/baby language obviously means 'please jump/pummel/elbow and knee your mother in as many places as possible'

10. you know its bad when you have to go and buy yourself new slippers because you realise you have caught a bit of splashback on them and you can't actually remember who or when that was…

finally, ladies, you know you you are, c'mon leave a comment with a link and spread some blog love. Ill try and get a linky up for next week once my legs stop shaking.
