The theme this week in the gallery is something you are proud of.
When it comes to my interest in photography probably there are two groups of type of photograph that im proud of i think. One is when I have been able to capture an emotion in someone's face, body language or expression so much that it is a freeze frame and the viewer gets swept into the moment and almost lives it with the subject.
Second is when i have learnt something about my camera and i get one of those lightbulb moments and i feel like im taking more steps into this professional world. That feeling gives me such a buzz.
So for the process of the gallery, where i think you are only supposed to share one picture. I have chosen this one. I took this on a workshop day with a talented pro and all round nice guy Chris Hanley. He was explaining 'Kelvin' within the ISO settings of the camera. Once id navigated how to do it and understood it..i took this picture and looked at the display and went..
"ahhhhhhh-haaaaa" lightbulb moment, they are the best.
will look for my favourite of capturing the emotion later and post that too 🙂
Click on the lens icon below to see what others have posted up for this week and c'mon join in.
1. Yes, i realise its been a few weeks since i managed a ten on tuesday, they have all been there in my head. When is apple going to invent a mind reader to text machine. Now that would be good.
2. We have come to the end of the incredibly intense ballet rehersal/show time. The ballet company that my girls attend put on a performance of sleeping beauty. In addition to the weekly ballet classes they do the girls attended an extra 20 odd hours of practice and they stuck with it with relative good humour and enthusiasm, given that they are both still quite young I am so incredibly proud of them both. But secretly we are all silently relieved that it will be two years till the next one. 🙂
my cute girls. Gawjus 🙂
3. JB1 went to Cadbury world with the school today. He was so excited that he got up three times throughout the night, he was so desperate to make sure he got up in time as they had to be at school early to depart. He came back with a gift for everyone…ahhh..including this for his mum. Thats my boy!
4. Two housework jobs i hate most in the world. Unloading the dishwaser and pairing socks. Another little project perhaps for the bods at Apple..c'mon guys. Have to say though that my wonderful OH will generally take on those jobs. Sometimes the lack of paired socks does reach critical status tho!
5. Music for you this tuesday folks:
yeh yeh..good middle aged choice….
6. Theres something about facebook that seems to remove all logical and sensible thinking right? Well in some people it would seem. Sometimes you feel a little 'you know this is a public forum right?" reminder should pop up before you hit that send button.
7. I read an article on the popularity of 'ear lobe stretching' – not sure i understand why exactly you would want to make your ears bigger? But the title involved used the term 'lobe gauging' which for me is enough of a reason to think 'bad idea'
8. Have you met 'Little Charlie Bear?' We love him and so does JB4 in particular. Narrated by James Corden. Happy to sit and watch this ….
9. Almost my favourite lens has given up the ghost. Its the second time its happened and having googled the problem i discovered that its quite a well known issue with the lens which is a shame. Its gone back to Canon and i miss it.
10. JB2 had decided that she doesnt like lamb because they are sweet and cute and she doesnt want to eat them anymore. When i asked her if she still likes chicken, pointing out that they are animals too, she said 'no, they have beaks and they peck' Sort of selective vegetarian so far then.
songs that you listen to when you have that loving feeling. Gone for something a bit different. We used to listen to a lot of Jamie cullum when we first got married. Then number one son came along and also got quite fond of his music which was great until the ga-zillionth time we had listened to this particular song. its like they say too much of a good thing and it becomes a bad thing and in the end niether of us could listen to it anymore.
So its been in the itunes under the stairs cupboard for a while and i feel a little come back is in order as we are coming up on our ten year wedding anniversary this year.
thanks to booandme for the mix tape idea. go check out some more…
this weeks promise goes to my first baby who is not a baby anymore but still is my baby.
