adding another…this could go on and on

adding another to my wish list…

Beach

and im not talking necessarily a beach…nor am i saying i want to be that women..although i like those pants…

but that little bit of solitude, quietness, peace, sound of the waves, staring out across the ocean and trying to fathom some of the bizarre twists and turns of life….

….

of course, 2 feet away from her and superbly cropped out of shot could be a two year old chucking the mother of all tantrums because they can't get the sand off their hands and their brother has just walloped them on the head with a spade.

yeah..thats more like it..

the english james went up a mountain…

Mountain

and in fact came down a mountain too….

name that movie?

well sort of,  its  on a theme.

Anyway this was shortly before Ben, me, Maisie and Poppy went back down a blue run to the bottom, which by the bottom, was more akin to surfing than skiing…ick ick ick.

and Isaac, my parents, jemimah and Matilda went down in the gondola. That was after we realised that in fact the French do not allow babies up to the top of the moutain, something to do with the risk to their eyes from the sun…BUT Jemimah was asleep in the buggy as we got on the lift and so the attendants didn't notice and it was only as we were just pulling out of the lift station that we noticed the list attendants telling the couple behind us with a young baby that they could not go on the lift….

ahh…..

We didnt think we would risk getting her out for a picture so hence the family shot of 6 not 7.

7. Something like this..

okay so doesn't really relate to this picture..although watching this fully grown adult try pretty unsuccessfully to get his lantern to take off was fairly funny. Gave me a giggle anyway….

4 days of a weekend…

still catching up on last weekend. We went camping for the rest of last weekend and had the most incredible weather. We always say how the weather can pretty much make or break camping…and last year putting our monstrous tent away in the chucking it down rain almost had us fall out completely with the idea of camping…but…

this weekend it was better weather, in fact sun shining and fair all weekend. So camping became doable once again.

Camp1

each night we had the most incredible 'kum-by-yah' type fire, marshmallow toasting, a little bit of singing and so so much chatting. Just does the soul good right?

Camp2web
this picture actually makes it look like the fire was really close to a tent…but it wasn't….much 🙂

Camp3web

kids running free..the absolute best bit about camping…….oh and did i mention the sunshine…

Another great thing about going camping with so many friends who also have children, is that the kids sort of go a bit ferrel and pack like.

Camp5

and everyone mucks in, so you know, you might find yourself holding the hand of a kid other than your own, or trotting to the loo with a bunch of kids, none of whom are your own kids. Community living at its best (well…almost, totally at its best would probably include a five star hotel in my honest opinion!)…and for us, incidentally, community living really really works. Anything that ups the adult to child ratio has got to be a good thing.

Thinking perhaps of researching the kibbutz!
