sunday…..

Starting the day with a lie in…..

yup….

did you hear the angels singing?

Well it sounds great and it was..but i was awake early…the kids slept in till about 0745 which is awesome. Remember when lie ins meant you got up just before lunch time?

nah….

me neither…

Jemimah slept all night (7-7)GO GIRL!

I think thats probably what woke me up, the fact that she hadn't woken up.

I have no idea why she slept longer and why she didn't need the feed..she just didn't. We follow no routines particularly and we don't wake to feed, dream feed or anything else the guru's suggest. She feeds when she is hungry and sleeps when she is tired. et voila….

and before anyone who does follow the baby guru, whisperer, routine type thing jumps to leave me comments…i am not saying they don't work….its just not my thing and my babies have always fallen into the same sort of routine that the books suggest but just in their own time which, perhaps, takes a little bit longer. But it works for us.

Church: and my two big girls sung their wee hearts out on the stage. Although they both looked so tiny up there with the big kids.

And of course we had to go and play more in the snow.

You know what sledging is great 'n all…but i miss the lift back up..you know what i mean?

but it sure is a work out. Poppy just about fell asleep in the car on the way home.

and finishing off our afternoon with an incredible sunscape. Enjoyed just long enough for the blood to migrate from my extremities.

Makes warming up so much sweeter though….

more of the fluffy white stuff..

its actually very telling that we as a nation are not used to getting snow because within hours of the snow falling nearly everyone in the UK facebookers were commenting on the snow or uploading images, myself included!

We had a quick sledging trip to the a nearby hill and i realised that 5 kids/2 adults into snow gear takes a looong time. We had this down to an art in France when we skied earlier this year…we are clearly out of practice.

and also its a good deal harder to convince children who are, shall we say, a bit clothing phobic. That ski wear is needed when you are not actually going skiing…

my sweet little 8 year old. He is having a tough time of it lately and it is so good to see him smiling and enjoying himself. He is always happy to pose for a picture, but not always happy in himself at the moment. which i keep telling myself is normal and okay and he has to work his stuff out but….you mumma's out there understand.

I once heard someone say on the radio ….'you are only ever as happy as your most unhappy child' and i think that has a lot of truth in it. Happy thoughts and prayers appreciated for my boy

the trees look so incredible with the snow. I love how it transforms bare branches, following every single little ledge and detail in the bark. Just incredible.

and sledging with big sister. She lasted about 15 minutes before her feet obviously got cold and she started crying. Welly boots are not the greatest insulator. She is smiling behind that dummy though!

Its now im kicking myself for not getting snow boots for the kids…and if i went to get them now there would only be huge man sizes left or id pay a small fortune for each pair.

The truth that is supply and demand….

See i do remember something from my business degree *chuckle*
