1. that you have to somehow work out a way to tune out ds/charlie and lola/iphone and toddler shouting otherwise you will loose your mind before you hit the first junction on the motorway…

2. that driving with your 8 year old son as a front seat passenger doesn't make for the most interesting conversation…er…that would be conversation of the silent variety, well unless you count listening to the chatty bits on mariokart 🙂

3. that there is some strange force operating on children's stomachs whilst on long distance drives..they seem to be able to and want to eat ALL the time…

4. that seven people in a seven seater means you dont have much space for anything else…to be fair we knew this beforehand but talking the talk and walking the walk (for 250miles)….different things..is all im saying 🙂

5. we need some kind of pulley system to get things to the back of the car….all thats needed is for the kid sat in the middle seat of the middle row to have a strop and the whole system falls down.

6. leg room is not a compulsory requirement except for the driver and even then….'can't we just squeeze that little tiny thing in there?'

7. You can forget listening to the radio….whisper ***for-ever***

8. Priorities at service stops are a compromise ….do you take the kids who have been downing fruit shoots for three hours to the toilets, feed the screaming newborn or let the toddler who has an attack of cabin fever run…..and run……. whilst trying to avoid laying down a fortune in sweets/magazines and other assorted over priced goodies you can be persuaded into buying…and thats not even to mention the lure of a strong coffee from costa or starbucks…..

9.that you can be so easily made to eat your words when you tell the children how serious it is to never ever never take off your seat belt and then how easily you click click to reach that dummy that has fallen down the side of the seat and might keep the peace for a few extra minutes..

10. that your kids seem to think when you finally arrive that you to have been watching tv, gaming and chowing on goodies for a couple of hours and should be ready to PLAY….

um…yeah…

11. and finally that you always, always, always go the M6 toll…..oh sweet, quiet, smooth motorway we thank you with riches 🙂

and in all that, it wasnt actually that bad being part of the travelling circus…

autumn means taking walks in the fall colours..although they seem to be fading to yellow now as the leaves give up the ghost and fall to the ground…

and half term time frame means that we can take more walks and take Isaac's new radio controlled boat sailing…and when you are not interested in RC boats you can do this…

Im slowly working through the images i took of sweet Mackenzie. I had so much fun doing the shoot, it was a real pleasure to take pictures of them because Helen and Alan (mum and dad)were so game to try anything and took the messy part of shooting babies without nappies on with real humour and good nature, which i totally appreciated. It was a real thrill to be finally doing a little bit of what i have been dreaming about for a while now….so thanks again guys.

This picture is probably one of my favourites. Little Mackenzie was a fabulous model and slept through the first couple of shots and then decided he was far better off in Mama's arms and settled again. I love this one because its such a womb like pose. 

We love watching the planes land and take off at liverpool airport. There is an area where you can view them really clearly on a little footpath that runs round a national trust property. I dont think Matilda has ever been aware of it before and the other day she got a great view of a large plane coming into land……her face was a picture. What i love is that in the first picture you can actually see the plane's lights in her pupils. Real 'rabbit in the headlights'
