14 days of life… Blinking and staring and try to work out where she knows us from…
8 years since we welcomed our first baby….incredible!
1 and a bit years of school… Means you can write love heart notes to your daddy telling him that he is amazing….
so much can happen in 7 days and when you are new to this world and all that it holds, seven days is probably a looong time. I put together this little video of her first week. The first image is me documenting the contraction times shortly before we left for the hospital. The last one i noted down at home was at 6.12pm and she was born at 7.20pm.
I am still trying to get my head around how to cope with so many little people, i have another post to follow soon once i can shake my thoughts out of this whirlwind about how i have felt about this very unexpected blessing…but for now i hope you enjoy this little montage. The music is by a band called Athlete…and the song is called 'you know'…..
Finally thanks so much for all your well wishes. She has all the kids enchanted except one ironical incident when Poppy said 'oh she is very noisy.' If you know my delightful Poppy you will understand just how ironic that is.
For those not familiar with Irish/gaelic spellings, her second name is pronounced 'ee-fer.' It has a lovely meaning, beautiful and radiant, and also a nod to her irish heritage, my lovely mum is Irish.
Enjoy….if you want to watch on bigger screen just click on the video….
1. Poppy and her little friend Willa.
taken at Maisie's party last weekend.
2. Its colder. I heard someone in a shop talking about there being 'snow' soon….*gah*
3. Mango chicken casserole for tea. Everyone ate it without moaning….re-s-u-l-t
4. The car is back, we are minus some savings….and we had some very generous friends lend us a car for the weekend. thank you thank you 🙂
5. Cbeebies, MarioKart Wii and husband practicing on the drums at 10am this morning was really just a little bit too much….
6. Maisie asked me today 'why do people turn their heads sideways when they kiss?' ………..
7. Isaac is 'playing' with his buddy over the road..on their own wii's and over the internet. Nothing like developing social skills huh?
8. The house next door to us and over the road are both having extensions done. Im wondering if they planned it? Cement mixers, skips, large builders vans have all rocked up and sat outside our house and at times in front of the drive. Sometimes getting into our drive requires a bit more of a bendy vehicle than we have…..and of course the drilling and banging all day is….er….useful!
9. The girls want to have some riding lessons. At the moment im trying to find someone nearish to the house….everywhere seems to be miles away..but then we do live in a city….
10. Who are all these polite people who email us wanting to give us vast sums of money in return for…well…all our bank details. Do people actually fall for these scams? About 80% of our inbox mail is rubbish….at least we don't need to fill the recycling bin up with them.
and to finish…..if you have a minute you might want to listen to this guy….
apparently…….
and at the moment we seem to be a working example of that….and we are clinging to the fact that, that statement is true.
Amongst other hiccups…our car has been in the garage all day today and when Ben called me to tell me that 'its isnt so bad because its not the gear box, its only the drive shaft thats gone' i was still not prepared for the shock of having to spend so much money on the car….um…just to get it working again.
It seems that the car is beginning to show some signs of age now and things are just up and quitting…expensive to replace things….so we might be doing a spot of car shopping..although can you categorize a vehicle that needs to carry so many people as a car?….probably not…
So today, Matilda and I 'sans vehicle' wondered to the park and went to chase some ducks and assorted other bird type things. I had to stand and stare at a group of older folk who had walking sticks (as in the kind you go up Snowdon with) and were striding round the park in laps….i had no idea what was going on……its very flat in the park and they were literally walking in circles…bizarre…
In an effort to cheer myself up a bit i looked for some autumn type pictures and shot a couple.
I must have this picture of every one of my kids…chasing the pigeons in the park…thing is i know that if Isaac was here he would still be doing the same thing…some 6 years on 🙂
