and like i said…

we went camping. Not of the Canvas holidays camping type but in a field in the middle of cheshire somewhere with a few itty bitty tents and a mishmash of camping equipment. Only for a night, how bad can it be right?

it wasnt that bad, honest. But we did all fit inside what is probably a slightly generous two man tent and that was a little…er….snug.

It ended off our summer holiday with a little adventure though and that was fun.

thats the number of pairs of knickers that Poppy went through on her second day of Potty training….

yeah…..

thats 10!!

we had tried to get her into the potty habit just after we came back from France but what with my horrible shifts i had to work to catch up on my hours and…well, her essentially weeing all over the place, we just gave up.

Until this week when i got fed up with fighting her into a nappy.

and i think she is getting there…slowly.

Its day 5 now and i think she had one accident today…..

progress, its all progress.

and no, we dont make her take her potty trips outside in the rain, we went camping last night and predictably it rained!!

a little bit of sunshine….

just enough this weekend for the kids to play in the garden and for us to meet a new member of the family. I almost feel resigned to rubbish weather in this country. I mean combined with the credit crunch and near recession of the economy its not really surprising that the lack of summer is getting everyone down right?

But heck, didn't those athletes in China lift your spirits. I love the olympics and seeing so many british athletes succeed is a tonic which im sure the Government in this country are more than grateful for!!!

I watched the handover to the 2012 on sunday and despite giggling at Boris being like a schoolboy next to the other two very formal looking bods, i did feel a surge of excitement. Go London.

and finishing with the lovely chunky bit of sweetness that is my cousin's little baby boy.
