We have had a few conversations which have gone like this…..

‘Oh she is so cute, whats her name?”

Poppy.

PARPY?

No, Poppy….

um, Poppy, like the flower…

OH!!! PARPY…..

When you have a canadian accent, you don’t pronounce your O the way that an english accented person does. So Poppy has turned into Parpy……LOL…and given the prune puree i gave her the other day its quite appropriate..heehee.

Something today that was a whole lot scary, was this bridge….

the capliano bridge, first ever rope bridge or something. But it is HIGH, 250ft above a massive canyon. Yep and we went and PAID to walk across it. and it wobbled….A LOT. I had moments when i thought ‘i’m going to freeze’ but it didnt happen thankfully.

On the way back I was stuck behind two people ‘taking their time’ and I was in a dilemma…do i let go of the handrail that has become my lifeline to get round them OR do I trample them into the ground trying to get to the other side……

The we went to stanley park…

and espeically for Hebe, today i cracked it. Found the best scrapbooking store. Buckets and buckets of reduced stock…or ‘half off’ as they say here. And not the ‘dragged out of the fluffy, dust in the corner stuff’ So much more happier now, got quite a few bits and pieces. There were two tables of paper all reduced Hebe!!! and its cheaper here to start of with. I mean i could have spent hours and hours in this store just going through their reduced, but Ben had made me promise not to be in there for more than an hour 🙁

anyway when i get back i will give you the full SP, no more scrapping opps for me now, we are off to whistler tomorrow and then Grouse mountain the day after.

This is a beautiful place *sigh*

but two little things that just mean it aint complete……

yep….for some reason Canada has made me itch!! actually i do have an idea, as i appear to be getting bitten A LOT. Don’t know why, no-one else is……

so anyway…we are half way through. This is a very surprising city. its very green. I mean greeeeen. Trees everywhere, in gardens, parks, roads, highways…just all over the place.

Other day, we are in the middle of the city and we find this….

yes that is a canoe….

and we have been heeding some warnings….

getting to know this little person a whole lot more…

and making some new friends…..

yum.

at the airport car park….the bus driver saw us unpacking the car and stopped right by us to let us on…..and told us to take our time, not to worry and make sure we had everything…..

on the plane…the flight attendants were amazing. we got upgraded into premium and had a vast load of leg space (well in airline terms!) and they were very cool about our little traveller.

So we are here.

Who knows what time it is????…Poppy doesn’t have a clue, poor kid.

Most bizarre thing…….sitting here with the TV on in the corner and Coronation Street coming on…

this is it, this is what we are permitted to take on board for Poppy. Yep, thats right, nappies and wipes….oh, and milk..but being as she isnt bottle fed we don’t even have that. I think they will be okay with a few jars of baby food but one of us has to try it before they let us on the plane. Oy Oy Oy…..

But have to say I would rather them be more vigilent than not right? At present our flight is still going ahead but we have yet to find out the estimated time of take off. Other flights are leaving about 2-3 hours late. So we are in for along wait.

and…once we have gone through check in, all we will have with us is passports, tickets, money..oh and Poppy’s nappies and wipes and that is IT…all in clear plastic bags……no mobile phones..aggghhh…

Bizarre..this world we live in.

So spare a thought and a prayer for us tomorrow ‘cos we need it…and so does our baggage. Our laptop, cameras, car keys, ipod, and everything else will be taking its chances in the hold and we all know how careful the baggage handlers are!!!
