A lovely adventure…..

these words came from the mouth of my nearly four year old this afternoon when we went to a pick your own fruit farm.

He said, ‘Mummy this is a lovely adventure”

and i just stopped…..

one of those moment that makes you clap your hand over your heart to keep it in your chest.

We were just picking fruit. I mean he doesn’t even like fruit, well not the berry kind. He is a bananas and apples type of boy. But something in his little boy soul was lifted by the basic fundamental of finding your food in nature. bliss…

So today was a gooooood day. We went to a garden centre with a little train and the kids mucked about in the wendy house type things they had for sale. ( i say wendy house but i think one of them had the word ‘chalet’ on them *cough cough*). We fed some koy carp and then headed off to the fruit farm.

yeah, a good day. some pics?

oh you know i took some!!! well maybe just a few… LOL

soooooo…..

today has been the grumpy day, yes..that is official…

but….

i don’t know why….

everyone in my house has been grumpy. Today i felt grouchy and grumpy and i found myself asking myself why?

and you know what….didnt know!!!

so i’m thinking must be something to do with the moon or the sun or some other planet….or maybe just the sky not being the right shade of blue…dunno…but it has been one of those days…..

AND…i had a dream, not the cool kind of martin luther type dream. But i dreamt the other night about going back to work…YAY, i mean can you get more exciting than that??? and no i am not anxious about going back to work and no it wasn’t in any way a weird dream……it was just a dream about going into work, taking handover on the babies and then doing the normal everyday things that encompass my job in NICU.

I mean….BLAH!!!…i was disappointed with my imagination, thats the best i could do?

Heck, i havent got into deep REM sleep for so long now that when i do i dream about WORK??

sheeesh…….

so on a happier note, here is a layout i did the other day. This funny little saying isaac used to have when i would take him upstairs with me to get dressed in the morning..’but mummy, i is audrey dressed’ LOL…now he won’t say it and i thought it was a bit sad and now i try to get him to say it and he looks at me totally disgusted and says ‘mummy, its already dressed’

bless him.

Audrey

oh and i leave you with this…..something i purchased today……are we braving the PT days again?

gush gush gush…..

check this out….

i just luh-huh-ove this kid. i know, i know i am so over the top biased but im just gonna gush about my boy a bit….

i love that he has a favourites catalogue on itunes. He has in it a bit of coldplay, some dire straits, katie melua and of course the toddler’s favourite Nizolpi. Along with the mp3 ben did of isaac and maisie singing happy birthday. 🙂

I love that in a game of lets pretend to offer a sweet and then take it away. He gets up and goes to actually give a sweet to the person the others are teasing.

I love that he includes his whole family in all his imaginary stories….’mummy, daddy, maisie, isaac and poppy all getting on the trains.. etc etc’

I love that one morning i woke early to hear him sitting in Poppy’s room reading her a story.

I totally dig that he went off with his daddy this morning to go get a saveaway and go on a couple of buses. So wondeful to see them heading off down the street together.

My lovely boy, such a thinker, so much energy, hitting some interesting teenage type behaviour.

But he is all together SUCH a dude and boy am i ever blessed to have him in my life.

Happy birthday to me…..

Img032

Nope, nope it isnt actually my birthday. But two evenings ago, on wednesday I had my birthday present. Ben and I drove to manchester to see Billy Joel in concert…..

i think about 20 years ago I watched him do a concert in Moscow on TV or something, might have been a video. But i remember it vividly, you know like when people say they can remember a time so exactly that they can still live the event. It was a bit like that. I remember being in the front room, i remember the fire place on which i was sat and i remember thinking…. ‘wow, it would be awesome to see him in concert’

and boy did he rock. I mean properly 25 songs, 2.5 hours nearly of rock. I mean don’t get me wrong he won’t be winning any ‘most handsome’ man competitions but who cares right?

Of course he left Piano man till the last song, which as it happens was quite good really. Given the day i had, had and also just discovering the lost buggy scenario. i think if he had sung it first I would have burst into tears right there and then:)

……..and this little moment in my life inspires me to believe that dreams can happen. You know, even when they seem ridiculous and who knows how far off in the future….it can happen. It gives you this enormous amount of perspective. Its worth hanging onto those seemingly unreachable things……

So thank you Mr. Joel. You quite definately are ‘the piano man’

and just because i couldn’t resist another layout…..nothing to do with Billy but…here it is….

and for my next trick…..

okay, so tuesday was a bad day. But the real cherry on the cake of a bad day was discovered on wednesday evening. How it went….

me: ‘ben, did you take the single buggy out of the car last night?’

ben: ‘No’

me: ‘you didnt take it out when you got the double buggy out?’

ben: ‘no’

me: ‘ well its not in there, i went to use it this morning and its not there’

ben: ‘i havent touched the single buggy’

me: ‘hmmmm, well its not in the house’

ben: ‘when did you last have it?’

me: ‘at nursery yesterday’

ben: ‘did you put it back in the car’

me: ‘ ummmm….i thought i did’

ben: ‘oh dear’

me: ‘ ‘

so it would appear that in my frenzied, hot, grumpy-kiddy haze on tuesday, i threw them all in the car and then jumped in leaving our buggy sitting on the kerb and drove off in a blast of airconditioning and frustrated kid screams. Oops.

But all was not lost someone obviously saw this happen and took the buggy back to the nursery and said that someone had just driven off leaving the buggy behind and can you believe it they narrowed it down to me quite easily!!!!

I just must have had a ‘i am hanging on by my last nerve’ look on my face.

We haven’t got the buggy back yet as i didnt get to them in time and they are now closed till september but we should be able to get around that one….i think…..

anyway i have some other things to sing about but i will save it till tomorrow…….in the meantime.
