never mind that its really clever and a great song. But those dudes looks scary, especially the guy in the middle who sings the chorus. Really would you break his heart?! Man, he looks ticked off, you might find yourself sinking to the bottom of a lake if you upset him. Then of course there is the beanie wearing mean head on the side. *shiver*
why is it when you get off a bus you look at the floor!? i don't get it. You are moving from a vehicle that is on the road to a pavement where pedestrians are walking at different speeds and in varied directions. Surely looking up might prevent the falling over small children, buggies, old people that seems to happen a lot for you guys? #justsaying

Dear littlest child of mine,
Why is it you are training to join a circus? you latest trick? launching yourself from a chair onto the dining table. Is your career plans to be the youngest member of cirque du soleil?

Dear Pixar animation studios,
thanks for making movies that are still good to watch even when you are starting to memorize the script.

Dear Levi jeans,
Not impressed that my decision to buy expensive jeans this time to try and get longer out of my jeans before the knees split has totally back fired. Less than 6 months old and starting to fray.. Dude, im not sliding up and down a stage like a some crazed rocker. Im thinking my usage is fairly average. Not good enough.
no crazy skiing outfits this week although i am staying in the mountains. Its landscapes this week and i love landscapes. i dont know that im the best at capturing them on camera but I love that feeling of space. Looking out on an open vista. It doesn't have to necessarily be mountains. I remember years ago being on a train going through the prairies of Saskatchewan in Canada. Although it is so flat there just the feeling of infinity, miles and miles of earth sweeping away from under you off as far as you can see. No end. Space.
This shot was taken from the top station of the resort we were staying in. Looking down the valley. I think i took this on the extra day skiing we had when a certain Icelandic cloud put a stop to all movement round Europe and everything was still for a while. The bright snow reflecting the warm sun on to our faces and that amazing feeling you get when you marvel at how small you are and just how incredible the world around us is. One of my other favourite things about being here?
If you listen you can hear it.
🙂
As always the gallery is hosted by Miss Tara and you can go check out some more incredible landscapes by hitting the icon below. Go be inspired.
1. I watched one episode of one born every minute the other day because a friend told me that there was a lady on there who had reminded her of me. Mostly because she was having her fifth unexpected baby. You can read my reaction to finding out i was pregnant for the fifth time here. Im not so sure i will be watching it again, no-one needs to be crying at lunctime do they? My goodness. There was a disabled lady having her first baby who just had the most incredible spirit. Truly inspiring but left me in a bit of a mess for the school run.
2. So its lent. What shall i give up? What is going to actually be achieveable?
3. Walk to school wednesday. I dont have issues with it. at all. I am lucky enough to be able to walk to our school and have done with all the kids most of the time. BUT on wednesday my three year old goes to pre-school and if i walk to school we are then late for pre-school and I hold those precious three hours of time with just one baby quite tightly and so arriving late means i am MISSING OUT. But my older kids always whine that they NEED to walk to school on walk to school wednesday. Now please don't think im being picky but doesnt the fact that my kids walk to and from school almost every other day sort of act as a bit of a credit balance in the walk to school deposit account? No? is it just me? Can someone tell my kids or maybe even the teachers??
4. I am loving the newborn shoots i have done recently. yes i know i could go on and on about this but i just love working with newborns (outside of the hospital). Not that i don't love my job in the NICU…ah..you know what i mean.
5. This week i am very excited to be hosting the love pregnancy blogs bit of loveallblogs.com. I volunteered to help and pitch in. Now I have had five pregnancies and I work in a maternity hospital so im around pregnant ladies a lot so ill no doubt have a few things to share. But if you have any fabulous memories to share about your pregnancy or if you are pregnant and want to share the journey (and if you have a blog) then bob over and share your post on the love pregnancy blog page. Im really thrilled to be part of the team.
6. music time. I heard this song on the radio. really love it.
7. Im thinking of ordering our cereal direct from Kellogs. Maybe they could deliver it in some kind of storage container too. Seriously we go through so much of it. I found the baby eating a dry weetabix the other day. Now that is desperate! Someone feed that child!
8. On friday I will be watching this. In between managing the five little folk solo. OH is off away on a BELA weekend again. Anyone know if you can record live internet stream?
9. A friend of mine got me onto this New Girl. I have to say i really like it. It does make me cringe and hide behind the duvet at times. But in a smiley sort of way. I watch it on catch up as with most things these days. It reminds me a little bit of another series though? Just needs a coffee house and i think it might be very close to another certain American sitcom. Any ideas what!
10. Pancake day was shared with some good friends this afternoon, which i was really grateful for. Having worked a night shift last night I was banking on some frozen Costco bought pancakes warmed up in the oven. But a friend of mine saved the day with home made beauties with lashing of lemon, sugar and syrup. Perhaps the most perfect way to have pancakes? no?
So lovelies, link in if you are up for it. If not go check out some other tuesdayten folk.
You ever know someone well that you have never even met? I did…until this last week.
The cool thing about blogging and being out in the internet in general is that you can meet some great folk who you would have no chance of coming across in real life.(yes there are some crazy ass weirdos as well!) Well i 'met' mel online years and years ago and we have always said that we would get together at some stage.
This half term we managed it. Rendezvous: London for a afternoon of walking, photographs, food and chat. Yes lots of that last one 🙂
The day was always going to be a winner starting with me on a train BY MYSELF! You know things are desperate when you almost ask the person next to you to sit still! =)
It was a bit like a blind date sort of feeling i had arriving in London. I mean i hadn't actually ever met Mel before even though i 'knew' her and her family. So bizarrely when she walked over to me with her family i was all 'HIYA!" to her kids and they looked a bit bemused. As i suppose they should, they had never met me before and yet i could probably tell them what they had been doing yesterday!
So we walked and talked and talked. Stumbled across a camera shop and did some window shopping then stopped for tea and scones in Selridges (ooooh)
I don't know London really well. There were a few times when i thought 'ah ive been here before.' But whilst i am a southerner I have lived 'oop north' for a long time.
Mel sent me a message later the next day saying that she had forgot that I wouldnt know London as well and she should have showed me a few more sights. But you know, I probably wouldn't have paid that much attention to the sights. My heart was lifted by having some time when im not doing 'mummy' When stopping for a snack means that you dont need to buy a fruitshoot and smartie cookie as well. Having that luxury of time. Standing in St.Pancras station, people thronging around me going about their busy lives and i just stood still. Because I could. ah the indulgence of it!
But most of all I loved hearing about and sharing the little stories that are the make up of life. The good and the bad, the happy and sad.
You can keep your towers and your palaces, i'll take that every. single. time.
