One year ago today, 55 people where killed in an attack on London.

The word above defines something that seems so unlikely and unachieveable in the world we live in today.

I was at work when we first got news of the attack and my lasting memory is of the screaming sirens and frantic work of the emergency services.

I work in acute care and have had the honour really of being with parents when they hold in their arms the babies that they have to allow God to take home.
It is, yes, a tragic moment for the parents but they are present, even if that fact alone tears them apart, they can know that their babies will spend the last moments of their tiny lives in the arms of the people who love them most.

Today my thoughts are with those parents who never had a chance to say goodbye to their children, the wives that kissed their husbands goodbye, expecting to see them in 8 hours time, the children who where maybe asleep when their daddy or mummy left for work only never to return.

I am not out to make any kind of political statement here. To be really honest I dont really have one to make anyway. I don’t know what it will take to create a safer world, I don’t have the wisdom or intelligence to know the solution.

But I want peace in our time, dont you?

Hey girl! Nice post! I had forgotten about the attacks on London. Can’t believe it has already been a year. Sorrry I have not kept up with your posts, I have been sick! All better now though and ready for some serious scrapping because the kiddies are at my mother-in-laws for a few days! Love the pic of you in the short dress! LOL!

Agree with all you say, just can’t say it so well.
