my picture of the day from Wednesday…

and yes i am aware that i am missing quite a few pictures of the day but fortunately enough all of the half term pictures are waiting to be used and so….

wednesday, one of the first i took with my old faithful 50mm F1.4 which was miraculously brought back to  life….

this morning on the radio..i heard this….

and found myself singing along to every.single.word.
Isaac looked up from whatever he was doing and said to me ‘Mummy how do you know this song?”
and i thought…’yeah how do i still know all the words to this song thats nearly 30 years old?’ How is it that I can remember ‘wise guys re-al-ise there’s danger in emotional ties!’ and i can’t even remember to get milk when i do the weekly shop??
This is clearly what my mind is full of, all those 80’s classics that i listened to and watched on TOTP.
Seriously how did anyone not know that George was gay? What about those three quarter length skinny jeans and canvas deck shoes? and the old choreography clearly wasn’t so much of a big deal back then *snigger* and love the not even bothering to use microphones…miming and proud! ha!
and of course one little journey down memory lane on youtube…you can’t help but explore a few others, heres another one of my favs back then….

clearly things have moved on..George has a microphone (briefly) and they were both ‘playing’ instruments…whats with the bed sheets waving around tho? the lady in the shower and the three witches at the piano?
ahhh…When Top of the Pops was the only music show? I used to so want to be in the crowd…anyone else?

Ten on tuesday…

and it is actually tuesday! woohoo…

1. Yes, i have been a bit MIA over the past week or so…the reasons for this could be amongst…

2. The Winter Olympics. We have all gone a bit olympic crazy, i think if i scrolled back to when the summer games were on i probably said the same thing. Although probably not as much fun watching the swimming/running etc as it is watching border cross or ski cross. Those guys are just plain loonies…..border cross van2010

3. Half term – in which we were visited by my parents and the room they stay in is the one i blog from..our main 'big Mac' lives there and i try not to load my pics on to the Macbook if i can.

4. The fact that during our half term my folks babysat overnight for us and we went on a jaunt to a lovely hotel and spa for a night…..uh…huh….yes we did. A whole 24 hours without a child (well one of ours) in sight. More later….

5. Been doing some nights….and relishing in the fact that i can actually get some sleep the morning after because there are other adults around to take up the slack.
Worknight
this is me sitting in one of our intensive care nurseries at work in the wee small hours…and no, i dont generally take my camera to work with me but a colleague i work with had a baby recently and i popped round to post nates and shot a few of her lovely little girl…

6. been sharing some early mornings with a certain little girl….
Matildaearlyam

yeah..she doesn't get a choice with viewing choices…only good thing about being up early these past 10 (ish) days is the Canadian time difference and watching some good olympics action as it happens…..

7. We had a special birthday to celebrate:
Grandadbirthday

8. Been visiting Liverpool one to drop off my absolute favourite lens…which was a bit sick. its back and awaiting collection… woot… ( i think only photographers are going to 'get' that one!)

9. Been having some more of this type of weather….
Snowsunday

and whilst i like snow…i am more of a fan when im on holiday in it, gazing at a skyscraping mountain top with a lovely warm serviced gondola taking me to the top with my hot chocolate in hand. Living daily life in liverpool in the snow…not so much fun…and i you'll find me wrapped in blankets and sitting in bed with the lappy watching the olympics on live feed. Bring on the spring!

10. and in amongst all that is the usual cleaning, cooking, feeding, singing, dancing, reading, homeworking, watching, walking, running, nappy changing, working, shopping…..etc etc….

but we are back….

🙂
