Can i just tell you…

how proud we are of our boy. Our beautiful boy as Maisie calls him, isnt that sweet? Isaac got his school report on friday and he got A in all areas which means he showed good effort and enthusiasm in all areas. Which is cool. We made a fuss of him, of course with the additional…'as long as you try the best you can do, whatever mark you get is good with us' The school he goes to is quite academic focused, which is ok, but there needs to be a balance and we strive to provide that for him. So whilst I am thrilled that he does so well in class and school. I am also equally thrilled when he stops to help his sister or thinks about someone else or asks me if we can pray for the children who don't have any parents or any toys. We want to see him grow in all areas but mostly in his character…

So well done Isaac, you are just the best you. We love you.

5 months…

IMG_0414

The speed of time going by is leaving my ears buzzing…Wow..here she is sat in her sisters chair. We have two tripp trapps….awesome high chairs/chairs that the kids grow into. Because of the very close age gap between the girls we got two but now we are trying to talk Maisie into giving hers up for Matilda. Think it might take some persuasion…

So at five months old:

She is still working the Mohawk…but going blonde..yes folks..blonde underneath. Blonde hair, blue eyes…uh oh…

I have no idea how much she weighs…our health visitors are not exactly the most proactive bunch but she is growing and thriving so im not that bothered…

She is super jumpy..not a great disposition to have for a fourth baby but she does seem to be sensitive to loud noises..

She is not so good with being handed over to guys she doesnt know….a friend of mine was holding her and then had to tend to her toddler so gave Matilda to her husband and she wailed and wailed…

She sleeps in her nature nest…check them out, they are cool. She loves it.

She is getting a bit of an early riser now. think solids may be soon, although trying to put that off as long as possible…but trying to stop the kids giving her little 'tastes' of things is a bit difficult.

I still like to carry her in the baby bjorn but she likes to face out unless sleeping now. Which i get, the sky and mummy's chin are not exactly the most interesting thing to stare at.

She is smiley if she is in the right mood. Not hungry and not tired otherwise she will cry at everyone.

We discovered the box of baby toys recently in the cupboard when i nearly bought something in a shop for her and then thought 'we have tons of this stuff at home, i just need to find it!' and find it i did but since then the other 'babies' in the house have had more fun playing with it than Matilda.

She is slowly growing out of 0-3 month clothing, those idgy widgy days are now officially gone ;(

Her best smiles are reserved for her big brother…there is a lotta love between those two..

She has taken a bottle of expressed milk and took it pretty well despite my fears that she would force her heels into the ground and say 'no chance!' A little bit of freedom now and again for mummy and not a worry for me when i return to work.

Her best friend for sleep time is Cuskiboo….the kids know that and are often sent off round the house looking for it. The have all had t shirts of mine as comforters as babies, all to do with scent etc, but this time i was pretty determined to get her attached to something that could be replaced. Many an hour has been spent searching for the other kids 'loveys'

She is nearly rolling back to front..almost there, she likes to curl up on her side and chew and suck those lovely pudgy fists.

I have found her a couple of times curled up sucking her thumb. We haven't had a thumb sucker before, she still prefers the pacifier though at the moment.
5 months…nearly half way to her first birthday…now what cake should i make 😉

ballet girls…

walking to ballet was lovely last saturday. It is always a bit of a downer having to get up on saturday at the same time as a school day. The girls are in ballet at 9am! But us mums get to have a cuppa for 45 minutes and I catch up with one of my buddies from work whose little girl in in Maisie and Poppy's class. Last saturday Ben took Isaac swimming so i had to walk with the girls and it was a lovely crisp summer day when the sun is still low in the sky but the promise of the days heat is in the air….sweet
