‘right…im moving out…’

yes, this is what my three year old daughter said to me and her big sister the other day when we were quite obviously bugging her enough for some drastic action….

disappointment…

Yesterday we said goodbye to my mum, she has been up helping us this week and for me, it was sad to see her go. After the half term next week I am going to hit the ground running with doing the 'family' on my own during the day…yikes…

Felt very emotional about it all yesterday, not just mum leaving but the fact that it feels like the newborn days are slipping through my fingers faster than sand and i have no idea how to stop it. Which, yes, is dramatic of me to say but hey..im hormonal, i am also 'one of those people' that just loves newborns……lots…

But that isnt why i titled this post 'disappointment.' I did it because of this lovely little boy…

who was supposed to be going with my mum on the 'pendalino' back to Ashford. His ultimate, ultimate. But yesterday morning he came down with a virusy, fever thing that left him asleep for most of the morning on the sofa and we decided that he couldnt go. When I said to him i didnt think he would be able to go, his disappointment and hurt was practically palpable and I felt so horrible and so gutted for him it brought tears to my eyes. I wanted him to go, but he needed to stay, it was a merry battle in my mind all day!!

But despite all the disappointment there was a bit of a silver lining, he got to play Wii for ages, his new best friend.

Last week..

when Ben was still on paternity leave we were in town with the girls, all three of them. In front of us was a couple who were probably in their 60's and as we were following them through a new bit of Liverpool one, the chap obviously felt a little bit of the new and shiny flooring under foot and did a proper one foot in front of the other skater slide across the floor.

it made us both smile……

so many times..

i have sat on my bed with the laptop ready to update the old blog and have found myself half hour later slumped over and sleeping….and so here we are im trying, yet again to update the blog without falling asleep half way through!! Not an easy task at the moment, at this time of the evening!

So we are now in our third week being a family of six and Matilda (Tilly) is fitting in fairly well. She has a very loud loud cry and seems to move from asleep to shouting at a breath taking speed. But she is fourth and will no doubt have to fight for her right and so i can understand the volume! No-one has yet asked for her to be given back although Maisie keeps asking if we can 'keep her.'

Im just trying to slow the time down, i cant believe she is three weeks old today, doesnt seem possible. I heard on the radio yesterday that Chris Evans and his wife had just had a baby. His baby was due on the same day as Matilda and it was born yesterday!! Holy moley….and extra 14 days over. I mean i was taken aback by our little Tilly showing up a week early but i think i would most decidedly choose that option rather than the overdue -ness thing.

So yeah im off to find a time machine that i can stick my beautiful wee babba in and keep her all little and scrunchy…..

have a good night everybody x

anyone who follows any UK based blog…

probably knows already that we have had snow….yes, it is a major event here in the UK. Trains stop running, buses grind to a halt, schools shut and people have a rare day of building snowmen and sledging!!

Even us, here in the normally soggy and salty part of this great country got more snow than i have ever seen in over ten years. Not that there is much of it left after 24 hours but watching it fall the last night was quite magical. Big fat fluffy flakes that made everything look so pretty….

There is a funny relationship between my husband and snow, only about an hour or so into the snow falling had him saying things like 'lets go to the park and get trays to slide on!" and 'fancy going to scotland this weekend so I can take Isaac skiing!" It clearly does things to him and whilst he loves the snow on any occasion. I love snow in holiday situations and less so in everyday life situations, probably because this country is so badly equipped for snow that when we do get some it is such a major issue and hurdle to over come.

Anyways for this snowy couple of days, because Ben is on paternity leave still. It has felt a bit holiday-esque and I had a lovely half hour feeding Matilda in bed watching the snow fall outside the window. It was sweet.

Some quick piccies to upload and then i must get some shut eye…probably briefly if little miss party nights has anything to do with it….
