apparently…

its 34 days till christmas, I know 'cos i was in Borders today and they had a sign on the way in telling me so……so very helpful!!

Christmas is my favourite time of year, i love christmas dinner, the tree, the trimmings, the long, winding meal times with friends and family. Its weird too that i have had some of my most stressful experiences over christmas too and yet i still love it.

My fav bit from last year was Isaac coming into our room, face aglow, telling us there was a big sack of presents on his bed. It was magical…really.

It can be a bit difficult to start 'traditions' when you have a job like mine which requires you to carry on working over the holidays but last year we did the gingerbread house which was fun and we try to take the kids to the cathedral for carols on christmas eve. So i was just wondering what kind of traditions you have out there? Just being curious…….

you know 'cos its getting closer…..

30 weeks….

Photo 1739

i know that is rather a crummy photobooth pic but it was the best i could do!!

Yes 30 weeks. It is usually the point that i stop worrying about premature delivery and all its problems. Post 30 weeks you are pretty much okay with a very few exceptions. But then there is the delivery….yeah and that sure has its potential worries but not going to focus on them at the moment.

So….10 weeks to go, 10 things to baby j…

1. you are getting very active, especially at night, please do not continue with this night time habit after arrival…thanks
2. you have developed an amazing ability to go still as a millpond when your sisters and brother 'feel' for movements….please dont wind your siblings up…
3. you have so far resulted in no spontaneous 'baby' purchasing….sadly….please don't worry we have clothes for you to wear and just about somewhere for you to sleep.
4. your biggest sister is so desperate to meet you, she asks all the time. Please be tolerant with her, she will want to dress you and probably be in your face way to much. But she just loves you.
5. you are keeping the chemists going at the moment with the amount of Rennie your mother has to buy to cope with indigestion……there is a recession y'know!!
6. you have so far resulted in no odd cravings…although that can almost be cancelled out by the above point, i think i might need to wean myself off rennie after all this…..
7. you have been so far a pretty easy passenger to have along. No real sickness, no tiredness initially, although that soon changed!!
8. you have so far walloped the sonicaid with either your feet or hand everytime a midwife checked for your heartbeat (my favourite sound) We are thinking footballer or pianist?
9. you get hiccups ALOT!
10. We dont know if you are a girl or a boy, we all have our own preferences (some of us changing our minds more frequently than others!) but really its unimportant, we are just happy that you will soon be here ( me especially)

fireworks…

our bonfire night was okay. We went to a big display at a local park after sparklers in the garden, which was probably more fun!! I do miss the big bonfires that we use to have when i was a kid. Big displays seem to be all about jazzy fireworks than a big 'ole bonnie. Probably something to do with health and safety no doubt!!

Anyway the best of a bad bunch of pics…

i had to get flowers….

recently I have just had to get some flowers when i have been out shopping. They just cheer me up. I love Sunflowers, they are probably one of my favourites, oranges, yellows, and deliciously dark red roses. I love them, walking past the flowers in the supermarket always makes me smile. I havent always felt like this, im not your typical, green fingered, gardener type. I love flowers, love looking at them and smelling their wonderful scent (apart from the lily of course, that is quite frankly weird that such a beautiful flower should smell of wee!) but im not a 'grower of flowers'

There is a part of me of course in financial times like these when it can be hard to justify buying flowers for oneself, they dont last that long and they are a 'luxury' item. But with the couple of weeks we have had they feel a bit more of a necessity….

y'know?
