in between work-school-sleep….work has finished, school has yet to start and sleep..well thats always the last thing to happen….

but looked after a very cute lil’ boy called Luca last night, who is three days old and all of 4lbs 10oz….don’t mind telling ya’ i had a little snuggle with him….

composting….

so im told….

hmmmm….

me, im not so sure….

A while ago Ben (secret eco warrier) had a conversation about composting….i think my response was ‘there is no way im having a bin load of rotting food in my garden attracting flies, mice, ants…ick ick ick’

So you can imagine Ben’s surprise when i ordered a composting bin from the council and it is now sat on our deck, not having been given a home in the garden yet. I did have a bit of a turn around when i realised just how much food stuff we do throw away. Im not an eco warrier, i tend to work on if its ecologically friendly and also fits nicely into my life without any inconvenience then GREAT….

So it is here on trial….if it starts to stink up the place and every time we go out in the garden we get dive bombed by the fruit flies i may re-evaluate…..but in the meantime i am feeling quite righteous about having reduced my carbon footprint maybe a little…..(yeah until i run the tumble dryer…bwaaaaaa!)

Those are my terms, and im sticking to them……

anyways if it doesnt work it makes for a great ‘darth vader skirt’

the end of the holidays now..back to school on monday…bleh…

But we have enjoyed this couple of weeks, it started with some reasonably spring like weather and then rapidly deteriorated into winter/rain/rain and more rain…..

so in pictures…we had playdates with easter egg hunts and making easter biscuits

trips to the park…..well once, when it didnt rain..

then of course it snowed….

all in all a pretty good two weeks….

hip hip hooray, i do have a bit of a soft spot for the apprentice. I dont know what it is maybe the fact that I can remember being at university all those years ago with some people very similar to those in the show……very easy to see how i was never going to fit in, in the business world!!! 🙂

the card was my mother’s day card that Isaac made in school. Isaac asked me on the way home on friday…’mummy in the school holidays can we go to Hong Kong?”

me: i dont think so Isaac, its a bit far…

Isaac: ‘where is Hong Kong?”

me: ‘somewhere…um…near china?’

So time to get a globe, I am often answering these questions from Isaac and it would be good to be able to show him.

Mind you, i think he will be a bit disappointed with his school holiday activities if Hong Kong was on his wish list. Ah well, think the easter eggs might help dull the pain…
