Give me something to eat or…..

Photo_349

I’ll eat this square, light box thing that you spend so much time looking at!!!!

so something is beginning to tell me that ‘lil Poppy needs solids. Could it be:

a) watching everything that gets eaten at the dinner table,
b) Trying to steal toast from random toddlers at sticky fingers
c) eating the end of a banana today without it being even the tiniest bit mashed up….

I think Poppy might say ‘all of the above, mother…so get me some puree before I have to get myself out of the high chair and go to asda myself’

Although to be honest I have made an attempt at baby rice this week but she wasnt interested and kept spitting it out, mind you i can understand why.

So anyway did a bit of scrapping tonight, here is one of them. Just to show that we do love her really.

Have a good weekend…….me

in my defence…

okay, i do actually like Ikea. Well, i like the stuff they sell, most of it. What i would like really is for someone to go to ikea to get the stuff and then build it. Although that would probably fly in the face of the Ikea mantra, as in its cheap because you have to come get (battle through hoards of people, walkin way to slowly) and build it (spend 3+ hours building something without so much as a scrap of instruction).

Having just read that paragraph back, i realised that i do have someone who does that for me…ben….LOL. (he so great, more so because he hates ikea too!)

Anyway something very cool happened today…this showed up in the post……

very cool box in its own right but in it was this…..

how cool is that, this was from a couple who we met on holiday last year in France. They are from Holland and are really GREAT people, not least because they send cool presents 🙂 So thanks again to them I cant wait to put this little dress on our Poppy. She is going to rock.

The other thing that i got in the mail today….ooooooooh, dont you love GOOD mail days.

Was some scrapbooking stuff from a new website i found called www.capturethemagic.biz. Check it out i ordered the stuff like wednesday morning and it arrived today, now that is fast……

My scanner has arrived but im having second thoughts (thats another story) but here is a little taste. been thinking i will add a bit of journaling to this layout..but i like it as it is too…

Big love to you. Im off like a bucket of prawns in the sun……

Now here’s a thing….

and this is going to make me sound very very old, well dated anyway.

I was going to ikea today (shocking i know, but that is not what i am talking about..for now) and turn the radio on and it is on radio 2, the usual, but for a moment i wondered because i found myself listening to Frankie goes to Hollywood’s RELAX…
……on radio 2
….in the morning
…..on Ken Bruce’s show…… (yes, i know v sad that i actually know the presenter’s name;0)

Is it me or did seem like not that long ago that, that song was banned from Radio 1 and everywhere else. Okay so i know it was a bit ago, i think i might have even been at school and that was a loooooonnnnnggg time ago but nevertheless….radio 2…..sheeesh….

anyhoo…so i went to ikea today because i have become increasingly depressed by my scrapbooking stuff all over the place and i keep seeing these flash studio type arrangements in all the magazines and having BIG issues with envy…..

I checked out some of the scrapbooking specialist places and thought to myself “i know, ikea will do something like this at half the price” so off i went..and for those of you who know me reasonably well, ikea is NOT a bliss place for me and more so now since they have ALTERED the layout of the place.

oh, i hate that place, not least for the way they channel you around like rats in a pen but also the oh so many inexpensive useful items that you end up thinking you cant live without and then wonder why you have spent £100 when you meant to spend £5.

So i went to get some STORAGE, an ikea speciality right? well no, NOT. I didnt find the scrapbooking container of my dreams and i did come back with a few random things like a spatular….but it was cheap and very bendy….

ah well back to the shoeboxes for the time being.

Check this out I have done a whole post and not mentioned the kids…..dont worry, we still have them.

;0)

one of my fav pics from the weekend to share with you……a little bit of granddaddy time…

taking the load off…

The family – that dear octopus from whose tentacles we never quite escape, nor, in our inmost hearts, ever quite wish to. ~Dodie Smith

This little boy, so thats what all the fuss was about….yes, we get it now. he’s a beaut.

So here we have it, we have returned from our much anticipated family get together. Meeting a new member of the family was very cool. The sun shone, the water flowed freely and we just had some good fun.

The day seemed blissful to me and ben. We really enjoyed having such willing and trustworthy people around who just played with our little tots. When you parent so intensively, like we do, having a day when the load is just lifted and you are free to be…rocks.

So thank you to all our family peeps who ran, shouted, built things, sat with, read to and just hung out with our kids. They loved it and so did we.

Seeing our current NZ dwellers was really good. You have such a lovely little boy. Its one of those days that really can’t be described very well, so here are some pictures…..enjoy, enjoy…..more to soon appear in an album and …yes..yes, i will burn a CD.

Look who is awake…

Mypicture

look at this, this morning at 0630 the small member of our family decided it was wakey wakey time. Having pulled my hair, poked me in the eye for about 15 minutes I gave in and GOT UP. Came down stairs and hovered around the two peas website while little miss played with the big soft square. Not really into this habit of waking up and getting up early…..mmmm….not sure what to do……..

Other bit of cheery news, Maisie learned how to jump yesterday. YAY….might not seem like much but to a little biddy 20 month old it is a whole big deal. She gets about 2 cm off the floor (both feet), lands it and then looks like she has won the Gold, bless her

I have finally posted some layouts on two peas website and have decided to plump for a scanner with my birthday money, its arriving soon, very excited.

well it is far too late to be nattering and i must get to bed, we are off to sussex tomorrow to finally meet the little traveller Hugh.

Leaving you with the best piccy of Maisie jumping, understandably hard for the camera to take a good shot without evil flash and in a not so bright room. But it shows a bit of movement i guess….lol

lotsa love….me
