Heh heh…

so funny that my last post got me so many comments, texts and messages…heh… the one thing i can see in the four pictures is the gradual improvement of photography hardware..HA..so easy to see that the pics of Poppy and Matilda were taken with decent cameras, in fact i didnt have the DSLR when Poppy was born but quite a high end digi camera.

sigh…has it really been less than three years since the lovely Canon came into my life..i love my camera 😉

But still, regardless of that it is good to know that all my kids are fairly distinctive as most people have said that they didnt need the initial on the picture, they would have identified them without…so not some 'samey' after all. Which is cool, i like that but also like the family resemblence too…

A couple of people commented on how small Isaac was. I think at first he was younger in the picture, it was the best thing i could find and he, in fact, was the smallest baby and didnt really get the hang of gaining weight till he was on solids…he weighed in at just under 7lbs when he was born.

Anyhow…..a sneaky picture of the boy himself reading just before bed…

a bit of a rant..

yeah 'cos all sunshine and no rain is not good for anyone….

Today they had 'circus' day at our lovely little school. So the letter came home on friday to find out something to do with the circus and then 'dress up' in something to do with the circus….

which…is….great…

unless you have a child that hates dressing up! That would be easy i hear you cry, just tell him not to dress up. Well we did, but thing to remember is that we are talking about a 6 year old who is well aware that his classmates will be dressing up so want to fit in but actually wants to be himself to….

So i tried to pre-empt this, we have been here before, and i asked him last night what he wanted to do about it and he found every possible way to avoid listening/answering etc. So i left it and sure enough this morning he was sat in the middle of the kitchen floor stressing his little head what to do about it.

and there is little Mummy can do about it half an hour before the school bell right?

Eventually i managed to convince him that by going in just his jeans and t shirt he would look like possibly a juggler who was practising and then by taking some circus poi loaned from our lodger he could use them in school as his trick.

He grumbled, fretted and moaned all the way to school….

Now I understand that the teachers are trying to make it interesting for the kids and get them involved i get it. But the letter home made no mention of what to do if your child doesnt want to dress up….

Its not fair, forcing him into it felt wrong and stressed me out and him out and did neither of us any good…believe me.

So I was mad…and i walked home from dropping the girls off at nursery ( who ironically had dressed up because i mentioned it!) formulating my letter to the headteacher describing how i think they are not considering a childs individuality and right to choose…

But for now im just voicing it here….

We discovered that Maisie is allergic to rabbits, bit of a bummer as the rabbits are actually hers but we had them in the other day and her face came up in a rash after holding them and her eczema has been pretty bad since. I think she would probably get used to them if she handled them a lot but for now its a case of bring out the anti histamine to bring out the rabbits…

Been to the Lakes twice recently, the weather has been incredible on both counts, which is pretty unusual for that part of the world!

Thanks..

for all your best wishes of more sleep…ill take them and match them.

Mind you, probably shouldnt be sitting here awake at this time, like i said…the laptop, the quiet, is something of a routine for me…all i can say is that it is made even easier by backlit keyboards, got to love apple….

So i had a sweet day. At church today there were three babies that have all be born within the past week and they were so beautiful, touched by that freshness of life, those tiny baby breaths and curled legs and arms. Scrummy. We had lunch with a lovely family of 7 who i have met through school, you know the sort of people that you think 'yes…this could be a good thing going'  Anyhow the kids hung out, the mums and dads chilled…it was a fine time.

This evening we popped popcorn on the hob, all the kids lined up on chairs watching and waiting for the first kernal to turn into white fluffy goodness. My kids have never seen that before and they were so excited. Then family movie time with popcorn and snacks and then to bed.

Pretty good way to spend a sunday…back to the school thang tomorrow 🙁

night night
