tonight…

i am shattered…tiredness has sat behind my eyes all day and at times threatened to take me out….and here I am sat (not lying) in bed listening to the soft snoring coming from sweet Matilda and the gentle whirring of the laptop fan.

I think the laptop is my 'book' you know, people often say they have to read before they go to bed…well i usually nearly always stick the lappy on and have a mooch around the web or fiddle with some photos. The day wouldnt seem complete without it.

It rained here today for most of the day…ugh…i can't stop myself from crashing a bit after a bit of a stretch of sun comes to an end, i love the predictability of shorts and t shirt weather. Its easy, low maintenance and comfortable. Today it got cold as well, coats and jumpers and close toed shoes…sigh…such is the british weather.

two happy footballers…Maisie was particularly intrigued by the junior girls football team on friday 🙂

I’ll have some extra time please….

from the extra time shop  :)

Galloping along through June. How in the heck did it get to be June? Isaac reliably and very seriously tells me that it is 'now the summer!"

Maisie has decided that if we get a dog we will call it Pete. Isaac wants to get a towing hitch!

Poppy quietly asked me on wednesday when Maisie was visiting school 'Its not september yet mummy?' I think she is going to miss her big sister.

Matilda is playing 'guess the sleep pattern' at night…im not liking it that much….

A friend of ours had a baby today, a girl….she was 8 days late. Welcome new baby girl 🙂

Im going to a scrap evening tomorrow *gasp*…not sure what im going to do, take the lappy or the glue dots….but will for sure be eating cake 🙂

Tried to get some shorts for the girls today, well Maisie in particular and went into a good few of the well known retailers and couldnt find any jersey shorts that werent in the 'hotpants' type style. Seriously? 3/4 year olds in hotpants??….er…..no

A few piccies from our walk to delamere forest this past weekend that ended up with us being in the middle of some sort of horse event?

a 180…

yes,,i have and i did just the other night do a total 180. I met a little cavalier king charles last night at a friends house. Couldnt get over how cute he was…and suddenly there i was thinking 'should we get a dog..' I know!  i think Ben just about fell over when i mentioned it when i got back. I am not 'anti' dogs, Im not anti animal. But living in Liverpool can sadly give doggie owners a bit of a bad name. There is a massive problem with fouling the streets and since having kids that has nearly driven me to distraction, dog muck on shoes, on hands, YUK…. Also there is the culture here amongst some people to have those horrible 'fighting' breeds..i dont even know what they are,  but its a status symbol and something I dont really want to have anything to do with…

But…since meeting little Moby…i might, maybe, could, change my mind…..I think its something to do with as well, seeeing how the kids grieved for Josh and just love being around him. There is something pretty special about growing up with animals in the house to stroke and pet and hang out with. I grew up around assorted 'pets' we had guinea pigs (who i have to say usually died!), hamsters, rabbits ( i remember when my first rabbit died..just about broke my heart!), tortoises (one who went on a marathon walk!), chickens, assorted ponies, two lovely dogs…yeah you know i think it enhanced my childhood…..hmmmmm….

Ben said to me…"so exactly when are you thinking of getting this dog?' i replied 'oh im not..just floating the idea..'

He said ' i think you are going to need more balloons!"

Mum, you might want to take that shocked expression off your face…( this is a library pic, we havent been out and got one!)

i love it when…

you can put babies down in just a vest because the room is so lovely and warm. It was 25degreesC (77F) yesterday and we had a lovely day of hanging out with a very cool family and then onto a picnic at a park with some other friends. I love the sun. Things just seem easier, no heavy coats to lumber with, back door open all the time, fresh washing on the line, kids outside getting kissed by those golden rays and breakfast, dinner and tea sitting in the garden, the smells of  bbq drifting into the house in the afternoon, freckles on noses, dirty feet from going barefoot everywhere. Just about the perfect temperature for me 🙂

its rubbing off just a little….

Isaac had a big day on tuesday, he got to go and see Liverpool Football Club play at their ground in Anfield. It was a big deal, first match for him and first visit to a premiership ground for his Daddy too. They both really enjoyed it..well until the point that Liverpool lost and then Isaac was heartbroken…it was only the youth team not the actual premiership team, cos the tickets are a lot cheaper and the ground is not nearly as full but predictably he now wants to go and see the top team so that he can see the great Steven Gerrard play. I dont know, you have to hope that these guys realise just how much of a role model they are to these young boys….

this is Isaac with his buddy Nathan at the stadium

and then since its been rubbing of a little on his sisters..
