500 miles, one hospital, three doctors and one dedication.

yes a long title…but oh my, it felt like a long week. There were some very very good bits to it but it was all little bit overshadowed by Poppy being ill.

Poppy started with a high temp on wednesday last week, early hours of the morning we hear some coughing and then some …er..liquid coughing..if you know what i mean…and there began the next six days of high temperatures, vomiting, coughing, running back to back nurofen and calpol, visit to a gp followed by a visit to a hospital…all to be told…’yes its a virus’

no kidding….

Two further trips to the GP here in liverpool and we finally have a diagnosis…actually only because I managed to get a little wee sample from Poppy using some methods we use at work…sigh..so after 8 exhausting days of her being unwell, it transpires she has a UTI….and thank goodness now she is on the right anti-b.

The week just gone was half term here, different to the southern schools. We journeyed to my mum and dads and had Poppy’s dedication. It was a really lovely day and she had a good time considering she was under the weather. Isaac got to go to London and saw his beloved eurostars. He tells me he wants to llive in France…..ahuh…

We, well ben did a video for Poppy’s dedication, i think it is awesome, please feel free to view it, it is about 9 minutes long…..

well im off to burn that candle at the other end…..

flying in to say…….

today i saw the most beautiful baby. Katie Erin, weighing in at 7lbs 4 oz, full head of hair and dimple cheeks. Arriving in this world just shy of a year to the day after her big sister decided she had finished fighting in NICU and went heaven wards.

Andrea, her mum, said to me..’ she’s a little miracle’

Derek, her dad said ‘we have been blessed’

This couple went through hell watching their little girl struggle and fight for life only to loose it at six months and seeing them today holding little Katie was perhaps the most definable feelings of bitter-sweet i have ever known, but it was mostly sweet.

The feeling that you get when something really good happens to people who really deserve it puts such a wonderful smile on your face.

Today was a good day
