something just a bit good….

hello everyone, hope you had a good weekend. We did, had a good saturday of not much at all. I had some great quality time with Isaac. We rode the bus!!!! it was cool, you know, my lil’ boy just rocks.

He said on sunday when we where having tea (we decided to have ‘pudding’ we don’t usually but we had strawberries, meringues and cream in honour of wimbledon) Isaac not being a great lover of sauce, creamy type things…i said to him…..

‘Isaac do you want some cream on your meringue?’

he said…’No i dont want cream on my merangutang!!!’

Heeheehee. Ben nearly choked….

So onto the something a bit good…. today i went to work to say hello, im coming back in a bit and here is my new baby. It was good seeing everyone and I really enjoyed it. Weird seeing the little premmies again…and not weird at the same time??
But the cool thing i heard was this….

We have some international nurses working for us and they are largely from the phillipines and india and the like. Apparently a few months ago they were told that their contract were unlikely to be renewed as there wasn’t enough money in the budget. They are initially given a two year contract with the unit and this is what brings them over to the UK.

Weeelllll……they get all a bit upset and some of them walk out of the shift….so then, the news gets to our neonatal director…the grande fromage….head man and he goes to human resources and says to them that if they have any intention of getting rid of any of the NICU nurses after they have fought for 5 years to get the numbers to a decent level he would resign.

and guess what……

they renewed their contracts :0)

So. HAH….makes you want to climb to the top of a big building and yell ‘POWER TO THE PEOPLE”

Don’t you just love it?

One year ago today, 55 people where killed in an attack on London.

The word above defines something that seems so unlikely and unachieveable in the world we live in today.

I was at work when we first got news of the attack and my lasting memory is of the screaming sirens and frantic work of the emergency services.

I work in acute care and have had the honour really of being with parents when they hold in their arms the babies that they have to allow God to take home.
It is, yes, a tragic moment for the parents but they are present, even if that fact alone tears them apart, they can know that their babies will spend the last moments of their tiny lives in the arms of the people who love them most.

Today my thoughts are with those parents who never had a chance to say goodbye to their children, the wives that kissed their husbands goodbye, expecting to see them in 8 hours time, the children who where maybe asleep when their daddy or mummy left for work only never to return.

I am not out to make any kind of political statement here. To be really honest I dont really have one to make anyway. I don’t know what it will take to create a safer world, I don’t have the wisdom or intelligence to know the solution.

But I want peace in our time, dont you?

Who in the heck is this…..

can you believe it? ……sheesh mother, what was going on with that dress? I mean HOW SHORT? Im thinking that either there was some of this outfit missing (lets hope something with slightly less pattern on it) or that I (yes, it is me!) was obviously in some kind of audition for small kid cabaret. But my goodness do i need any other evidence that the 70’s were SO WRONG for fashion, i mean i know it has come back again since then, but really…..im at a loss for words!!

Anyway i stumbled across these photos here on the little ‘visiting liverpool’ ibook as my mum and dad had all these old slides put onto disc for a party about 6 months ago. So believe me, there are some other absolute CORKERS, but hey, some things are best left unseen by a internet viewing audience…if you know what i mean 🙂

So today was steffan day, Isaac’s little buddy Steffan stays for lunch at nursery and they get to hang out for an hour or so. You should see them, they are so cute. I took isaac to visit the little boy’s room when we got to nursery and little Steffan follows me in and goes into the next door toilet to isaac. The they start shouting at each other through the partition…hey, isaac, im having a wee too…I’m nearly finished….i’m going to wash my hands next….me too…..and so on. Cute little buddies. love it.:)

last little pic for this evening. some scrapping hopefully tomorrow evening…YAY…

but check this out, i mean how about those cheeks…..

Lotsa big love….s

HOLLYOAKS

No, dont worry i have not taken to watching this show. But today the, im sure very nice, people from this show had made the decision to film some of their show at our local park. So we battled our way through their catering vans, gazebos and tried not to trip over all the cables running from various vans.

Are you sensing that i wasn’t happy about this? Well, not really, im not actually that bothered but it was when they told us to stay over to a certain bit of the playground and not make any noise that it bothered me.

well, excuse me, this is a council park, you are monopolising an entire swings/slides/climbing frame area and at kind of peak time?? Well we just hoped the council were getting a lot of money for the hassle.

Yes..and maybe.. they could spend it on some more swings….

Anyway this is one of the reason why our little boy is passing out as soon as his head hits his thomas the tank engine pillow….boy, does he live life with energy at the moment

Hot in the city…..and bananas…

and it certainly has been that today….hot hot hot. About 32degrees C, not even sure what that is in Fahrenheit, about 90ish…

We all suffered last night because of the heat, dilemma you see, have windows shut and totally overheat or have windows open and listen to drunk or otherwise people kicking wheelie bins or just being very loud at 3am. MMMM…..we went for the window open option:)

so anyway bananas..i know, random but like i said its hot…bear with me:)

Maisie and I have a constant stand off about lunch time, she perfers not to eat what i make and i prefer to not give her yoghurt coated raisins until she becomes one and goes to live in a box. Anyway today i found myself wondering yet again if i would be throwing away the sarny i was thinking of doing when i remembered that she had asked for a banana in the car……

so, cashing in my chips i went for banana sandwiches…..nothing wrong with that really except that
1. she didnt touch them
2. I have NEVER understood why fruit, more specifically banana, should be placed anywhere near bread.

Bananas or any kind of soft fruit shouldnt be in a dependent relationship with bread. Its just not right. Plus bananas turn to brown mush very quickly once opened and mashed in a bit of bread and then it just looks like a dirty muddy sandwich…!!

So…we wont be going there again and maybe ill try something else tomorrow……

Anyway other things…i did some more scrapping and thought id load this one up…..the journaling in the corner is squiffy and also a bit blurred..not sure what happened with the scanner, maybe the heat is getting to it too:)

ciao 4 now.
